1.Annabel Newspaper Cutting 6 Dec 1886 Unknown: "She had far passed the age of woman.....

She was the daughter of Mr Kemplay for many years a successful schoolmaster at St Johns Place Leeds and a sister of Mr Christopher Kemplay proprietor and editor of "Leeds Intelligencer". She was endeared to a large circle of friends during her long life .....in her 88th year"

5.James Newspaper Cutting 9 June 1882 Unknown "The late Mr Kemplay QC". In our issue on Wednesday, we briefly recorded the death of Mr Kemplay QC. The deceased gentleman was the youngest son of the late Mr Richard Kemplay of Leeds and was born on June 9th 1810. He received his early education at the Leeds Grammar School and proceeded to Trinity College Cambridge, where he graduated in 1833. He was called to the Bar in 1852. He joined the "Northern Circuit" and shortly obtained an extensive practice. Mr. Kemplay obtained silk in February 1872, but shortly afterwards the effects of his hard work in earlier years began to tell on him and acting on medical advice, retired from his profession. He was a man of the highest integrity. In private like his genial and kindly manner endeared him to a large circle of friends. His internment took place at Highgate Cemetery."
